Daffodil - Token of Forgiveness

Daffodil's have meanings of faith, honesty, truth, forgiveness and forthrightness. They are ever vigilant in returning each Spring and with their return, we are reminded that their beauty is capable of following on the shirttails of even the harshest winters (or tribulations).

Give Daffodils to someone as a token of forgiveness or give them away as a token of appreciation for their honesty.

Star of Bethlehem - No water needed for this flower

If you're one of those people who don't like changing the water in your vase, this flower may be just for you.  For the first time, Skyline is growing the "Star of Bethlehem."  We're growing it in orange, gold and white.  To make it last the longest, put the flower in water for two to three hours and then pour the water out.  You don't need to add water again.  It doesn't get any easier than that.

In the language of flowers, some say this beautiful flower means "hope."

Gerberas - symbolize "beauty and innocence"

Gerberas also referred to as Gerbera Daisies symbolize "beauty and innocence."  They stand out amongst all flowers for their lovely beautiful blooms as well as the wide range of colors.  Some also say Gerbera Daisies represent joyful emotions. Gerberas are also considered great flowers for adding a dash of color to any room or garden.

Remember to help Gerberas last as long as possible, change your water every two days and add some bleach.  They seem to come to life again when you add bleach to your vase.

St. Patrick's Day is almost here.... Are you ready?

We wanted to give you some ideas for flowers that would be perfect for St. Patrick's Day.  Skyline's green Ranunculus and Super Green Roses came to mind.

However, DID YOU KNOW? The actual color of St. Patrick is blue. Green became associated with St. Patrick's Day during the 19th century...AND...The very first St. Patrick's Day parade was not in Ireland. It was in Boston in 1737...DON'T YOU FEEL SMARTER.

Sweet William - Grant me one smile?

Sweet William is known for its spicy fragrance and flower experts differ in their interpretation of the "true meaning" of this flower.

Some say a gift of Sweet William requests, "Sweet lady, grant me one smile!"  Others say it means gallantry, finesse and perfection.

At Skyline, we grow the fragile flower in numerous colors including in red, pink and white.

Photo shot by Tom Flowerman

It seems there are many meanings for the Bird of Paradise Flower.  Some say it's given today from a woman to a man as a symbol of faithfulness.  Others say its common meanings include Freedom, Good Perspective and that something strange and wonderful is about to occur.  Either way, it seems you can't go wrong.

Craspedia equals "Good Health"

We typically call them Craspedia or Billy Balls...  but they're also referred to as Billy Buttons or Drumsticks.  Whatever you call them, they're bright and unique.  They also look beautiful in bouquets.

So what do they stand for????  Some say they stand for "Good Health."  They are apparently native to New Zealand and Australia.  You can also find them in green or brown.  For a look at Skyline's Craspedia, CLICK HERE.
